I got accepted into grad. school for this fall!

I am very excited to be able to plan for the future again.
I am also very terrified.
I will be studying International Development, specifically Human Security.
When you study a subject that is real and in practice and not out of pure theory, you begin to see real, worldly things that are sometimes very depressing. I have seen and experienced very real things….I feel firsthand the effects of the theory of global governance put into action by the United States. The idea of a better and a developed Middle East hits me in Canonsburg every day.
Studying Anthropology, I think, for the sake of academia and history is safe. Studying Political Science to become an expert in international theory is safe. But I won’t be studying, I will be attempting to resolve. And putting theory into practice is a scary thing.
I know I have a heart larger than....uh....the sea? the mediterranean sea?
and I know that if I pursue a career that is less involved with the world and humans, I will feel personally unsatisfied.
So so so, I am excited.

On another note, Bethany and I went out to the infamous McGrogran's to witness the infamous Chili C sing Kanye West's infamous "Gold Digger."
[best song of 2005, I think]
It was also neat to run into my brother's old friends who I haven't really seen since high school.
and yes, for the first time ever in my life, I wore green on St. Patrick's Day.
