I lounge

 June 8, 2008

On Friday I shot photos at the women’s basketball presentation in Madrid’s sports arena. I felt comfortable pushing my way through the crowd to take photos. Blending in, I am. Let’s see, yesterday this man behind the counter at this little convenient store mistakenly asked me what part of Spain I am from, and today these two tourists stopped to ask me for directions. I should be a spy.

Today I mostly hung out on my balcony. Well, first I woke up to an exciting and quick parade of nude bicyclists making their way down the street, and then I decided to sit outside.  It is pleasantly convenient to have a little balcony right there outside my bedroom. I caught up on some political reading and I got a bit of sunshine at the same time : )

For dinner my two apartment-mates and I went out searching for…Mexican food. We waited nearly an hour to be seated (Spanish customer service is horrible! Tips definitely affect how happy/active waiters are. Spanish tips are 10% - if you wish).

Tomorrow I’m going to El Rasto, which is Madrid’s flea market. I’m on the hunt for blank CD’s so I can make copies of my music for my foreign friends and they can make a copy of their music for me. And now I’m going to bed. Buenas.
